The Minnesota Vikings improved their record to 6-1 after defeating the Arizona Cardinals at home after their bye week. They were able to get revenge against the squad that beat them by a single point last year. Star Wide Receiver Justin Jefferson contributed to the Vikings’ 34-26 victory with six catches for 98 yards.

After their game against Arizona, Justin Jefferson is currently third in the entire NFL in receiving yards with 752 total on the year. Only the Miami Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill (961) and the Buffalo Bills’ Stefon Diggs (764) have more receiving yards so far this season. Justin Jefferson in this new look Vikings offense is on pace to finish with 1,826 receiving yards and a career-best 126 receptions. This puts Justin Jefferson in rare company.

If the star Vikings wide receiver reaches that mark, he will have the sixth-best single-season total by a wide receiver in league history. Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson owns the mark at 1,964 set in 2012, while Cooper Kupp had 1,947 last season. Julio Jones had 1,871 in 2015, all-time receiving yards leader Jerry Rice had 1,848 in 1995, and Antonio Brown had 1,834 in 2015.

Based on the pace Justin Jefferson and the Vikings have set through the first half of the season, Jefferson can still surpass those numbers if he continues his streak of strong performances in the second half of the 2022 season. Regardless of where he ends up, the superstar has a great chance of compiling more passing yards than his rookie (1,400) and sophomore (1,616) NFL seasons.
