Justin Jefferson is "The Answer"

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson referred to himself as “The Answer,” this past weekend, an iconic nickname given to NBA Hall of Famer and Philadelphia legend Allen Iverson. It stems from his recent Instagram post in which there’s a split image with one side showing Jefferson stepping over a defender and the other side showing Iverson’s iconic step-over Lakers guard Tyronn Lue in Game 1 of the 2001 Finals.

Justin Jefferson four games into his third NFL season has already cemented himself as one of the game’s elite receivers. As a rookie, he went for 1400 yards on 88 receptions. He then followed that up with 106 receptions for 1616 yards in his second year.

The superstar Vikings wide receiver was elected to the NFC Pro Bowl in both years and looks to be headed for a third trip this season as he has already accumulated 393 yards on 28 receptions through four games.

In Week 4, Jefferson was especially impressive, running a clinic on New Orleans Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore. In a game played in England, Jefferson pulled in 7 receptions for 147 yards, most of that on Lattimore. To put this in perspective, consider that Lattimore is not only a four-time Pro Bowler but he only gave up three catches for 23 yards in coverage over his first three games this season.

This brings us back to “The Answer.” That defender Jefferson is stepping over in his IG image is none other than Lattimore, a snapshot from one of many moments Jefferson outplayed his adversary. Jefferson also leaves little doubt about his skills as the caption under the image proclaims, “Ain’t no question, I’m the Answer!”

It’s hard to disagree with him.
